This is Prairie State Canoeists annual get-together to review the year, elect new officers and directors, and enjoy dinner and a program. The evening includes a social hour including a cash bar and soft drinks, a catered dinner, a business meeting, and a awsome speaker.
We are very excited to have this year’s speaker; Mr. Dana Starkell. A year after completing high school, Dana undertook the two-year canoe trip his father had been planning since Dana was 9 years old. Altogether, they paddled through 13 countries from Winnipeg to Belem, Brazil and were awarded the Guinness world record for the longest canoe trip in history. In the course of the journey, Dana cured his asthma and honed his skills as a classical guitarist. The true story about their adventure became an international best-selling book, “Paddle to the Amazon”.
Cost is $20 per adult; $10 for Children (age 6-12) Children under 6 are free. Please submit a separate event registration for each person attending and include the person's name in the comments/questions field.
Note: This registration cost is for attending the dinner. If you choose not to pay the dinner cost you are still free to attend the Board meeting, the business meeting, and/or the program, just not the dinner.
A PSC Board of Directors meeting will be held at 2:00 PM at 1340 W. National Ave. in Addison prior to this event. All interested members are welcome to attend.
