Our annual trip to the Wisconsin River was thwarted by the River gods!! The water level is still too high---i.e. NO SANDBARS TO CAMP ON!! SO we are trying something a little different!
If you can't join us for all 3 days, that's OK...you can meet us on Saturday morning. The Luau is real! We will have tiki torches, grass skirts, beverages with little umbrellas. etc. Please contact me if you plan to attend...there are some special considerations for river camping on sandbars/gravel bars (you need to bring all of your gear, food and water with you and know the tricks to keep your tent anchored in the sand and how to get along without ‘facilities’).
We will camp at a primitive campground on the river Friday night, Saturday night will hopefully be on a gravel bar (if available) or in another primitive campground on the river. We may have to pay camping fees but they will be minimal... |
