Kankakee River - Cancelled

Cancelled - low water and high heat index makes for unfavorable conditions...

Details: While this may seem to be a little far for a day trip...This river has had water while most others in the area haven't... (Also see trip listing for Sunday, August 29 - Join us for one or both days. If you would like to join us for camping, let us know ASAP as we MUST make reservations early)  We haven't done this stretch in about 6 years because of issues with camping at Kankakee River State Park...but we recently found out that camping is now available!! YAY!!!

This stretch is known for more rocks, gradient, numerous islands, and some beautiful limestone outcroppings. We usually have lunch at the State Park and later hike/wade the Rock Creek Canyon.
