Date: Saturday, May 16, 2026 Leader: Dave Watts Location: Buffalo Park FP, Algonquin IL Skill Level: Beginner / Advanced Beginner Category: Day trip Details: This is a nice section of the Fox River, you will paddle through wooded areas, through the old/removed Carpentersville Dam, pass old hunting blinds, pass river homes, through cities, encounter some twists & turns (the river is wide enough to minimize getting into trouble), It has a very rural feel with few houses. It is about a 10 mile paddle. Bring water, lunch, PFD, and dress appropriately for the water & weather. Car shift 9:30. Contact trip leader for directions (if needed) & more details.
